'Crown of Obatala (Ade Obatala)' by Yoruba Artist, Nigeria

Yoruba Art

Important gifts from Bernard and Patricia Wagner, such as the Crown of Obatala (Ade Obatala), bring to life the sacred, royal arts of the Yoruba people. Fred and Rita Richman donated an exceptionally large and particularly fine pair of twin sculptures. A rich array of indigo cloth dyed by Yoruba women was a gift of African textile expert Dr. Joanne Eicher.

We’re reopening to all members and frontline workers July 7–17 and to all visitors on July 18.
