Greene Family Education Center
Join artist Larkin Ford as he leads drawing sessions that mix direct observation and printed reference images. Learn various methods of combining multiple image sources into one final drawing to create a cohesive piece. Stitch figures together to create a believable representation of reality, or flatten the world to give your drawings a collage-like effect.
All drawing levels welcome; supplies are included. Your ticket includes access to the Museum galleries, but does not include tickets to the Obama Portraits Tour exhibition.
March 19: Layered Image Lasagna
Allow yourself to trace, using vellum paper to capture the contours of images. Discover the unexpected opportunities that tracing offers as you overlay photos, abstract patterns, or drawings until they become difficult to discern. Begin with realistic line drawings and push them to become more mysterious and abstract. Bring printed images if you’d like!
Before your visit, please review the High’s COVID Guidelines.
