Woodruff Arts Center Educator Conference

Presented by the High Museum of Art, Alliance Theatre, and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the fourth annual Woodruff Arts Center Educator Conference took place June 6–8, 2017. One of Atlanta’s most dynamic and collaborative professional learning events, this year’s Educator Conference explored the theme Building Community through the Arts. Over the course of three days, participants viewed world-class art and engaged in workshops led by professional artists and educators in order to reflect upon the essential question “How does my practice build community through the arts?”

Participants had the opportunity to:

  • Reflect on a compelling theme
  • Hear from outstanding keynote speakers (to be announced—stay tuned!)
  • Experience world-class art on the Woodruff Arts Center campus
  • Connect and collaborate with colleagues to create practical classroom resources
  • Participate in a single conference track or explore an array of topics, including:
    • Early Childhood Education
    • Fine Arts Instruction
    • Arts Integration (Connecting Visual Art, Theater, and Music with other content areas, such as English/Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies)
    • STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics)
