Renowned Chef Hugh Acheson Joins High Museum of Art for 18th Annual High Arts Day Fundraiser on Nov. 4
October 7, 2013
ATLANTA, Oct. 7, 2013 – The High Museum of Art welcomes acclaimed chef and author Hugh Acheson to the 18th Annual High Arts Day on Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fundraiser celebrates the High’s exhibition “The Art of the Louvre’s Tuileries Garden” and will feature a special presentation by Acheson, owner of Atlanta’s Empire State South restaurant.
High Arts Day tickets are $150, with all proceeds benefiting the High Museum of Art. Each ticket includes a special membership offer, and Gold Patron-level tickets are also available. Tickets may be purchased online at www.high.org/highartsday or by phone at 404-733-4429. Seating is limited.
High Arts Day will begin with a trunk show featuring luxury items from C. Wonder, a Burch Creative Capital Brand, a silent auction of one-of-a-kind items, and mimosas and mingling. At 11 a.m., guests will join Acheson for a special presentation in the Rich Theatre. Acheson will also join guests for a Parisian-themed seated luncheon in the High’s Margaretta Taylor Lobby at noon, which will include informal modeling by C. Wonder.
A favorite and longstanding tradition of High Arts Day will also continue this year: original paintings on canvas will be created to serve as unique centerpieces for the luncheon tables. These original works will also be available in the silent auction.
After lunch, guests will experience a private viewing of “The Art of the Louvre’s Tuileries Garden” and can purchase a copy of Archeson’s book A New Turn in the South: Southern Flavors Reinvented for Your Kitchen for the chef to sign.
In advance of High Arts Day, Gold Patron ticket holders will gather on Sunday, Oct. 20 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for the Gold Patron Evening. The reception will be held at the residence of Consul General of Canada in Atlanta Stephen Brereton and Mrs. Carolyn Brereton. At the event, guests will see a collection that showcases Canadian artistic excellence, watch sculptor Wesley Wofford create a stunning piece live, enjoy a champagne tasting by Champagne Henri Giraud, and bid on silent auction items. Gold Patrons enjoy additional exclusive benefits at the $500, $1,000 and $2,000 levels in support of High Arts Day. Please visit www.high.org/highartsday for a full listing of exclusive Gold Patron benefits.
