Atlanta Florists’ Imaginative Designs Celebrate High Permanent Collection During “Art in Bloom” Weekend Feb. 27 – March 1

ATLANTA, Jan. 22, 2015 – More than 50 metro Atlanta floral designers and arrangers will participate in the High Museum of Art’s second annual Art in Bloom, a special weekend during which works on view in the Museum’s permanent collection will be celebrated through floral designs inspired by the art.

Participating florists will create exotic and imaginative floral interpretations of selected works, which will be presented alongside the art from Feb. 27 – March 1, 2015. The weekend will also feature the following special events and programming:

  • Opening Night: Evening in Bloom – Friday, Feb. 27, 7 p.m.
  • Lunch & Lecture Series – Saturday, Feb. 28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Family Programming – Sunday, March 1 from noon to 3 p.m.
  • “High” Tea – Sunday, March 1 at 1:30 p.m.

Art in Bloom provides visitors an exciting new way to experience the permanent collection.

Admission to Art in Bloom is included with regular museum admission, with tickets to special programming available for purchase. For tickets and more information, visit

For interested florists, Art in Bloom is a non-juried event open to professional florists, garden club members and amateur arrangers whose participation is key to the success of the event. Florists who wish to participate in Art in Bloom may apply online or get more information about exhibitor guidelines at Feb. 15 is the deadline to register.

“We brought Art in Bloom back to the High last year, after previously hosting the event once in the early 1990s,” said Kris Delaney, director of marketing and communications at the High. “After receiving such a wonderful response to the event in 2014, we knew we had to present it again in 2015. It’s a really fun way for us to celebrate the Museum’s permanent collection and encourage in-depth contemplation of the works.”
